It’s been hovering around 100 degrees here the last couple of days and it’s pretty sucky to jog in… BUT I SHALL PERSEVERE DAMMIT ALL!! I will defeat you, Earth’s rotation.

100 degrees? In Ohio? In May? What the hell is going on? It’s 81 in Vegas!
It was 99 today.
WTF
Dude, I’m 2 degrees from the equator, and it’s only in the upper eighties here.
Mostly I’m posting this so you might see that your fame has reached new international proportions.
…holy shit.
Bawwww here have some our Washingtonian cool weather~ and some ice cream~ and a hug~ HUUUUUUUGGGGGGG
ORM NORM NORM
Ay! Yeah, that and running in converse really fucks up your feet–I’m guessing cause they have no support? Hmm.
Which is a-okay because I don’t have arches! 8D
Well, you are in great shape then!
Chucks = good for walking or hanging out with the cool kids. Not good for running.
they accommodate my freakishly wide feet pretty well and I have flat feet anyway so arch support really doesn’t mean anything.
Is it true that you can get scholarships for being flat-footed??
…I have no idea.
They also suck for you know… EVERYTHING ELSE. I wear them when im at cons… by the end of the con my feet are killing me.
Oof. I feel you. Over here in PA it got to 100 as well… we just got a thunderstorm, though.
we did too!
For some reason the whole heat thing didn’t phase me, I read this and all I could think is “how the hell do you comfortably run/jog in converse?”
flat feet!
Didn’t you see my drawing with the chucks and the running shoes and the kittens?
Running in chucks is the more difficult exercise, but, even if you have flat feet they’ll nevertheless get to your knees, and cause your tendons to harden up faster, ache longer. At least, that’s what’ I’ve found to be an issue (other than the moot arch support question, I mean). If they were good for the body, basketball players would still be wearing them.
Ask around in a sporting goods store about a pair of shoes tailored to your foot shape. Someone should know something. A good pair of running shoes or cross-trainers or whatever will make you feel like you’re gliding on the sidewalk … they even make weird-looking shoes that look like toe-socks, that habituate your body to run as though you’re barefoot (and I want to try those sometime). I’ve seen them in green. Maybe they have orange, too.
I’ll shut up now. Just think about it. =P
Yeah, I did and it was bloody adorable.
But you’re right, I really do need to invest in some running shoes. I have seen the toe-shoes… and they are strange.
Jesus dude.. how hot is the ground where you are that you can feel it through your chucks!?!?
Uhhh… pretty damn hot. I think we traded climates with Texas at some point…
hawt.
